About Climate Change Essay Competition 2023
In April 2023, the UEF launched an essay competition in some Ugandan high schools. The competition focused on the theme of “the impacts of climate change on the youth in Uganda and innovative solutions to the crisis.” As part of the competition, the UEF team made dedicated visits to seven schools across different regions of Uganda. By inviting the students to propose innovative solutions to address the challenges posed by climate change, the UEF sought to ignite their creativity and problem-solving skills. It aimed to instill a sense of urgency and motivation to enable the students to actively contribute to climate change mitigation and adaptation efforts. After receiving essays from participating schools and selecting winners, the UEF intends to partner with responsible stakeholders to implement feasible innovative solutions for the winning essay writers. This partnership will ensure that the ideas put forward by the students are transformed into practical actions, making a tangible impact in addressing climate change.
